A guide, not advice
This site is a rough guide to help you compare a quoted price with the spot price of a metal. It does not give regulated financial advice, investment advice, tax advice or legal advice, and it does not recommend that you buy or sell anything.
How the verdict works
The “good”, “fair” and “high” limits are rules of thumb chosen by the site owner. They are not published standards, and they are rougher for platinum, palladium and bars of different sizes. A coin or bar can be fairly priced even if the verdict says otherwise, and the other way round. Always compare several dealers.
Prices and accuracy
Live prices come from a third-party feed. They can be delayed, can contain errors and can differ from your dealer’s own spot price. For any purchase, check the dealer’s figure and check the final price, delivery and tax before you pay.
Tax
The default tax settings, including the UK VAT defaults, are simple assumptions and may not suit your situation. Tax rules differ between countries and can change. Check your own position.
Risk
The price of gold, silver, platinum and palladium can fall as well as rise. You could get back less than you paid.
No endorsement
Any dealer or product mentioned is not an endorsement. At the time of writing, no dealer pays for placement on this site. If that changes, it will be clearly labelled.
Liability
The site is provided as it is, without any promise that it is accurate, complete or always available. To the fullest extent the law allows, the site owner is not liable for any loss arising from using it or relying on it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
